When the betting line deviated from our power ratings’ suggested line (within a certain range), the game was deemed valuable, at a specific point spread. Those recommendations, the ones based on power rating deviation, focused more on betting quantities. At other times, we recommend games because of particular football mismatches that are not built into the betting line or amount to betting market inefficiencies. At still other times, we see high volume betting (popular games) and perceive a particular edge on one side or another based entirely on betting money flow.
